**About the Role**
The Diagnostic Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical support services to ensure high-quality service provision to internal and external clients within the Melbourne Veterinary School. Working closely with the Team Lead, Clinical Teaching Support, the coordinator will also coordinate specialist teaching support activities for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.

Under the guidance of the School Operations Manager, the position involves strategic thinking, risk mitigation within regulatory frameworks, and leadership of a diagnostic services team. Additionally, the coordinator will engage with academic staff, external clients, and stakeholders to identify collaborative opportunities, contribute to school-wide projects and initiatives and ensure best practice specialist technical skills are taught to our Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading a team of diagnostic technicians, in close collaboration with veterinary academics.
- Under the guidance of the School Operations Manager, design and implement of a business plan for Diagnostic Services within your designated team that accounts for changes in external and internal service income and monitor income/expenses throughout year.
- Developing strategies to expand clinical services in collaboration with the School Operations Manager, relevant academic leaders, specifically for the teams reporting to you. Your focus will be on guiding and enhancing the clinical services provided within your team.
- Develop strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and identify new funding opportunities.

**Who We Are Looking For**
You will have an analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate compliance risks including identifying gaps in existing processes and developing solutions to address or mitigate these risks, within relevant higher education and regulatory framework. Additionally, you possess exceptional communication skills, relationship-building capabilities and influencing skills.

Although not essential, experience in provision or coordination of clinical services within the higher education setting will be highly regarded.

You will also have:

- A relevant tertiary degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to develop strong and productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, with evidence of critical thinking, influencing skills and negotiating to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to assess compliance risks, develop strategies, and adapt to evolving regulations and industry standards.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to clearly present complex or technical information.
- Project management skills to oversee compliance initiatives effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
