We are looking for a Surgical Bookings Clerk (Administration Officer Level 4) to join the team at Wollongong Hospital. This is a permanent part-time 19 hours per week position.

**COVID-19 Vaccination Compliance**

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

**What you'll be doing**

Provide a range of administrative and clerical support services to enable the Surgical Bookings department to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner. As well as:

- Ensure that the waiting time and elective surgery policy is adhered to at all times.
- Ensure that timely and accurate maintenance of the elective surgery waiting lists in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MoH) Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Policy.
- Provide accurate information/statistics to hospital and Department of Health information systems (iPM & Waiting List Collection On-Line System (WLCOS)).
- Provide an effective, accurate and efficient quality admission booking service.
- Ensure all clerical procedures are completed in accordance with LHD policy and procedures.
- Provide leave relief and assistance to Surgical Booking Clerks.

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

**Selection Criteria**
- Ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks, monitor and determine work priorities to enable adjustments to workflow as required.
- Experience in responding to a range of enquiries and determining the appropriate response in a complex work environment.
- High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedure.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to bring a creative approach to problem solving.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Medical terminology certificate or working towards.
