**About the Role**
**This is a Fixed Term Contract until July 2023**
This Media Lead role is a senior position within the team that supports and mentors media advisors. You will work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment that requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across the team to tell stories and manage media issues.

You will work closely with journalists and internal and external stakeholders to deliver engaging content on a range of operational and policy issues as well as communicating important network updates to get Victorians where they need to go.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in managing media issues and/or significant journalism experience who has strong story-telling writing skills and the ability to be clear and accurate when conveying complex information in simple language. You will have previous experience in developing and implementing media relation projects and provide advice to senior managers to carry out media interviews, briefings and coaching on key messages, tone, and media delivery.

Additionally, you will demonstrate a creative flair, with the ability to think beyond traditional communication strategies. You will deliver high quality media events, including developing event materials, coordinating event logistics and identifying strong visual opportunities for photography and television. Develop and deliver social media content to support and extend campaigns delivered through traditional media channels.

This role will require a willingness and ability to travel to locations within metropolitan and regional Victoria and the ability to work out of hours, including participating in an on-call media roster.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- An appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in journalism, public relations, communications or a similar discipline.
