**About the Team**

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

**The Opportunity**

The roles are responsible for managing a team of communications specialists who are tasked with coordinating and delivering a broad range of internal and external communication and stakeholder engagement services.

The roles will lead:

- The Princes Highway Upgrade program, a state significant program of work aimed at upgrading the Princes Highway to create safer and more efficient journeys **(temporary fixed term until March 2028)**:

- The Picton Road upgrade, which also includes planning for the Picton bypass, and the construction of the Mount Ousley interchange on the M1 Princes Motorway at the base of Mount Ousley **(temporary fixed term until January 2027)**

The roles will also lead the coordination of Member of Parliament briefings for the Division including collation of confidential project updates, providing specialist advice to senior leaders and managing relationships across organisational branches.

**What you will be involved in**
- Demonstrate the Transport Connected Leadership dimensions by role modelling collegiate and collaborative behaviours to achieve the greater good for the community, celebrate our diverse workforce, create an environment where people can create and thrive, and support our people’s wellbeing.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for project delivery to ensure precinct management, oversight, and identification of key risks.
- Develop, implement and evaluate the full range of internal and external communications channels to creatively execute communication activities in accordance with the precinct requirements.
- Provide secretariat support functions (when required) for Member of Parliament briefings by preparing meeting agendas, updating action lists, coordinating the preparation of MP briefing papers and liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure actions are finalized and papers are delivered on time.

**About You**

You are tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline such as communications, media, journalism, or public relations and likely have extensive experience leading and managing various business activities and projects within either local/ state government, Construction, Education, or another relevant field.

You will have superior written and verbal communication skills, and will be enthusiastic about developing relationships and collaborating to facilitate change. Demonstrated political acumen and associated understanding of the nuances of public sector policy development are essential. Your resilience will see you thrive in an ever-changing politically sensitive landscape. You’re an innovative thinker with a detail-focused and analytical mind possessing the ability to set strategic visions, synthesise project desirables and meet customer needs.

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 11 ($148,877 - $158,854) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
