Essendon FC - “The Bombers” - are a professional sporting team in the Australian Football League. As home to 5 sporting teams, we run our AFL men’s and women’s programs, VFL women’s and men’s programs, and a wheelchair football team. But we’re more than the game. **About the role**

Our People & Culture team are currently on the hunt for a part-time experienced HR professional to join the team on a short-term contract to support the business through functional support on all aspects of HR processes and practices.

The People & Culture team contributes to the entire Clubs operations including football operations, football administration, and our venues; Windy Hill and Melton Country Club through the provision of professional knowledge and expertise in the guidance, administration and support of relevant HR programs, processes and procedures throughout the employee Lifecycle.

This is a true generalist role that will allow you to leverage your operational expertise and stakeholder management to drive successful outcomes that enhance our employee lifecycle activities.

In the role you will be specifically responsible for:

- Provision of HR advice and support to the People Leaders
- Assist with performance management practices, i.e. support to business as needed on the various phases, regular reporting on completion to the Exec.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of people processes and delivery across the Club
- Assisting with the review, implementation and communication of people processes (such as onboarding, offboarding and recruitment).
- Support the delivery of cyclical people programs such as Employee Engagement, Performance and Reward, and Succession and Talent, where appropriate
- Support wellbeing program - help to develop calendar of events and training, and coordinating initiatives/suppliers in line with this.
- Assist with D&I strategy, as necessary
- Award interpretation and implementation of changes
- Business partnering with the venues on all people matters
- Partnering with hiring managers on recruitment needs
- Work collaboratively with the broader P&C team to drive the People Strategy

**About you**
- You’re an experienced BP/Advisor who loves working in a fast-paced, outcome focused environment
- You’re pragmatic, you love to solve problems and you don’t rely on the HR rule book to do it
- You’re an energetic people-person who is curious, flexible and passionate about driving high performance through our P&C strategy
- You will be a well versed all areas on Australian Employment Law and ability to interpret modern awards
- You’re able to jump between BAU and projects and manage your time effectively
- You collaborate and bring people on the journey
- Most of all, you LOVE what you do and bring energy and passion to your work
