**About the Role**:
The Manager Policy is responsible for:
Leading the design and development of strategic policies and projects related to vocational education and training, including development of a wholistic policy and strategic plan for the skills portfolio.

Leading intergovernmental relations and negotiations regarding National Agreements and representing the department on intergovernmental working groups.

Providing leadership and direction to staff and making a significant contribution to the delivery and management of efficient and innovative work practices and systems within the Team, Group and Department.

Leading and driving professional and collaborative liaison, consultation, advice and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, which significantly supports the achievement of the team’s strategic objectives.

Initiating and conducting high level, strategic and complex planning, design and implementation of critical policies and reform initiatives.

**Qualifications**:
**Desirable**: Tertiary qualifications in leadership and management, economics, public policy analysis, engagement methods or related disciplines.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
MAS3 $125,970 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation
