**Role Details**

The Manager, Concessions Programs is a role within Community Investment and Support and is accountable to the Director, Concessions and Support Services for:

- Leading and managing the provision and continuous improvement of a comprehensive, client focussed concessions schemes, Funeral AssistanceSA, GlassesSA, SA Companion Card and Personal AlertSA Schemes.
- Establishing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships across DHS, with other government departments and external organisations to enhance programs to alleviate financial hardship.
- Providing high level strategic policy advice to government on concessions and programs that alleviate financial hardship contributing to departmental objectives directed toward supporting individuals, families and communities in times of need.

Key outcomes and accountabilities:
1. Provide leadership, supervision, performance management and effective deployment of staff.
2. Plan and monitor workloads to maintain a high standard of services and service delivery.
3. Establish and maintain effective and open networks, relationships and communication channels.
4. Identify and plan initiatives for improving organisational and service delivery practices.
5. Manage resources and risks effectively through developing best practice and quality assurance systems, operational standards and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
6. Lead delivery of business systems and processes that support operational requirements and meet legislative and contractual requirements.
7. Contribute to all aspects of business planning, including providing advice and support.
Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department. The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.

**About the Business**

Community Investment and Support is responsible for the provision of many vital services to the South Australian public to help build stronger and better-connected communities. The division provides screening of those who work with children or vulnerable people, as well as procurement of goods and services for the department, including important social services from the not-for profit sector.

The division also provides grants and commissions services to promote economic participation, as well as a range of concessions to the community, and interpreting and translating services to both public and private organisations.
