**The Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to leading Australia’s clean energy transition, building the energy super-highways and enabling nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

Transgrid is reinforcing the transmission network in southern NSW with HumeLink - a new 500 kV transmission line project that will improve the flow of electricity between new generation sources and major demand centres in NSW.

HumeLink will provide a crucial hub for the flow of electricity in the National Electricity Market (NEM). The project will enable high volume energy transfer around the NEM improving access to affordable electricity.

As Strategic Claims Manager you will support world-class commercial management of the $5 billion HumeLink transmission project. The role will provide strategic claims support to major contracts within the Project, principally the HumeLink East ($1.4b) and HumeLink West ($1.5b) Delivery Contracts.

The primary purpose of the role is to support and advise the HumeLink East and West Contract Management teams direct commercial and contract activities, including in relation to Advance Warnings, Claims and Variations to ensure the effective management of delivery contracts associated with the Project. The role promotes a whole-of-project commercial perspective, integrating the commercial position of the delivery contracts and maintaining a balanced focus on the impact of change on the project’s strategic outcomes, and in accordance with the collaborative principles embedded in the contracts and project culture.

**As Strategic Claims Manager you will**:

- Provide strategic advice to the HumeLink Project Team on all claims related matters, and in relation to contract negotiations.
- Maintain the commercial integrity of the Project by ensuring all claims are considered and being actively resolved.
- Provide expert advice on the management of extension of time claims and coordinate expert schedule resources in preparing responses and reports on extension of time claims.
- Prepare commercial strategies that address contractors claims campaigns and ensure that Transgrid has a coordinated approach to claims resolution.
- Develop rapport and trusted relationships with stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers and within Transgrid, to support the project’s success.

**Skills & Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline.
- Solid demonstrated experience in managing major project construction contracts, including assessing and managing contractor claims.
- Demonstrated experience in resolution of highly complex claims for time and cost
- Able to develop good working relationships - both internally and externally (contractors).
- Proven strong commercial background.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Highly proficient in the use of business systems.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent MS Office skills.
