**As the Workforce Planning Projects Officer, your key responsibilities will include**:

- Provide strategic advice to the Director and the Manager, Workforce Planning and Development, on issues affecting workforce planning and development across Queensland and represent the interests of the department with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage a suite of projects that includes contract and performance management of procured services and contribute to promotional public relations, marketing and awareness activities.
- Lead and participate in the development, implementation, facilitation and ongoing delivery of workforce planning and development strategies to ensure that the Board and staff can access contemporary and comprehensive industry intelligence to effectively carry out the organisation’s functions.
- Research and prepare submissions, procurement material, reports, briefing materials, presentations, communication materials and correspondence for the Board, the Secretariat and key stakeholders on matters relating to the workforce planning and development functions.
- Build and sustain relationships with a network of key stakeholders and industry partners ensuring effectiveness in intelligence gathering which supports the development of industry and place based approaches to workforce planning and development.
- Provide analysis and advice on operational policy, program and legislative issues.

**As the successful applicant you will demonstrate**:

- Proven ability to provide advice and manage projects for senior management and clients in order to address a range of issues impacting on policies in relation to workforce planning and development, future skills needs of the workforce and apprenticeships and traineeships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, build and sustain positive relationships with industry stakeholders, team members, stakeholders and clients.
- Proven ability to work professionally and effectively under pressure, to prioritise, plan and perform work to meet stakeholder and client service commitments within agreed timeframes.
- Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, facilitation and negotiation skills, including the ability to advise clients and senior management on complex workforce reports and a range of other documents including submissions and briefing documents which resonate with their target audience.

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, practical experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
