**The Role**

The Policy & Advocacy (P&A) Team develops health and social policies, leads the College’s government relations and advocacy initiatives, and provides advice on policy so that the College is actively engaged in health policy debate and is positioned to influence policy in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, as it affects the Fellows and trainees, patients and communities that they serve.

The Project Officer will be responsible for providing project support across a range of P&A initiatives (particularly around member engagement) and contribute to maintaining and enhancing the core operation and administrative functions of the P&A team.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Provide project support to the P&A Team, particularly P&A Operations team and member engagement initiatives, but also for other P&A / cross-college events and projects as required
- Support website, Sharepoint and Jira content management and support
- Support development of tracking and reporting processes and tools for P&A activity
- Assist with data collection and reporting, including quarterly reports and annual report
- Assessing incoming requests for College activity and appropriate referrals
- Provide ongoing support to the external appointment process and member representatives on external committees/events
- Executive level administrative support to the P&A Team, including correspondence, reports and briefs

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- Experience in project support/management
- Experience in office/department operations support
- High level experience in providing executive administration support to a team
- Experience in correspondence and report development
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong initiative, problem solving skills and the ability to identify potential issues and solutions
- Excellent verbal communication, influencing and liaison skills and an ability to deal across all levels of an organisation
- Excellent written communication and organisational skills, ability to assist and support the production of reports
- Strong project support and research skills particularly in the support of briefs and business case preparation
