**Your role**

Based at our Melbourne CBD Head Office, we have a permanent opportunity for an Emergency Response Service (ERS) Coordinator. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work in the chemical industry, putting their technical knowledge to use.

You will be thoroughly trained in our procedures and in the use of our information systems. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical advice to callers dealing with emergency situations. For each emergency, you’ll quickly assess the hazards involved, then provide appropriate advice to callers to mitigate any risks. In addition, you’ll provide administrative support to the business to maintain our high operational standards.

**_In this role, you will work 3 days per week. You will also need to be available for 20 evenings and 12 weekends a year to work on call. An overtime package is provided for this._**

**Your responsibilities**
- Handling incoming calls from callers dealing with emergency situations
- Assessing the risks associated with each emergency
- Providing appropriate advice to bring each situation under control
- Carrying out administrative tasks to maintain the service’s high quality standards

**Your skills & experience**
- A tertiary qualification in a scientific or engineering discipline is required
- The ability to stay calm under pressure, to think on your feet, and to problem solve
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with dangerous chemicals or in an industrial organisation is highly advantageous
