Role Detail

Drawing from our principles such as empathy, betterment and trust, this role will see you add value through key responsibilities such as:

- Understanding and embedding P&D compliance and risk management strategies into day to day firm processes using your passion and insight for offering a safe and energising people experience
- Reviewing existing and identifying new opportunities to improve how we offer that people experience
- Coordination of ER case monitoring and use of our ER data to guide insights and actions
- Consulting with the Strategy & Projects Area of P&D and where relevant, other specialist P&D teams to ensure compliance is built into systems and processes
- Coordinating insights and themes, working with key internal stakeholders to address systemic issues and recommend initiatives and taking the lead on actioning these from time to time
- Specialist employment and people compliance analytics within the P&D remit and contribution to P&D reporting including to Board and Executive
- Support embedding the risk and hazard controls within the P&D remit
- Review bids and pitches requiring specialist ER and people related commentary
- Maintain and improve, with key internal stakeholders, relevant P&D precedents including Playbooks, Manuals and specialist documentation and systems.

About You

This is a role that needs a natural collaborator with a passion for the ER and WHS space. The firm is constantly looking at how to continually learn and lead in this area, to ensure our people feel valued, seen and safe. Drawing on one of our guiding principles, curiosity, this role will value your solution focused approach and ability to navigate ambiguity, to review, assess and analyse data, seeking out themes that could then be addressed with the introduction of solutions that drive change.

You will also bring:

- Demonstrated knowledge and working experience in best practice HR, particularly in ER and IR, performance management and a strong working knowledge of people risk and WHS.
- Proven experience, within a law firm, in partnering with stakeholders at varying levels to manage complex issues
- Proven ability to document and operationalise process improvements
- Thorough knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), Awards and WHS and workers’ compensation and other employment legislation and how these three areas intersect with firm policies, processes, and systems as part of the end-to-end employee life cycle
- Ability to review systems and data for integrating compliance and improvement opportunities systemically
- High attention to detail with clear and simple communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proven collaborator and team player
- Ability and enjoyment blending between high level and into the detail
