**About the role**
In our Sydney office, we are offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Senior Legal Secretary to join our Commercial Dispute Resolution and Litigation team. In this full-time role, you’ll work closely with a dedicated partner and a skilled team of lawyers, placing you at the centre of a dynamic practice. You'll manage intricate litigation matters for prominent clients, where your ability to maintain precision and efficiency will be essential.
There is plenty of variety in this role with the key responsibilities and duties being:
- **Client Interaction**: Serving as the primary point of contact, liaising confidently with clients and fee earners;
- **Court Document Preparation**: Assist in drafting, proofreading, and lodging critical court documents, ensuring every detail is spot-on;
- **Billing & Reporting**: Take charge of high-volume billing, including time recording and preparing detailed monthly invoices. Your expertise with Excel will be crucial.
- **File Management**: Handle extensive file management, from opening and closing cases to electronic archiving.
- **Administrative Support**: Manage general administrative duties, including diary/inbox management, credit card expenses, and general printing, scanning and copying of documents.
**About you**
To succeed in this role, you will have significant secretarial experience in a litigation practice, and demonstrate the following:
- **Self-Starter**: A proactive individual who takes initiative, with advanced problem-solving skills and the flexibility to adapt to the demands of a busy practice.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with Aderant Expert is a plus.
- **Legal Expertise**: Strong understanding of legal processes, terminology, and court jurisdictions, including knowledge of online databases and systems.
- **Detail-Oriented**: Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of producing high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with clients and colleagues at all levels.
