Join our Health Information Management team in an Administration role that supports our Medical Typing, Records Management & Clinical Information Release functions.
- Provide **back of house medical administration** services for our group of almost 40 cancer care and treatment centres across Australia
- **Permanent, Full-Time **(Monday-Friday; 8-4pm) role located in our modern offices in the vibrant **South Brisbane** Precinct

**The opportunity**

We have a new opportunity for a
**permanent full-time Administration Assistant** to join our Health Information Services team in an
- all-round support role_, providing administrative support to our Medical Typists/Transcriptionists, Release of Information Officer, and Medical Records Officers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provision of administrative support to the Medical Typing Service
- Liaison with Icon staff and external healthcare providers regarding clinical letter release to ensure that letters are sent to the correct healthcare provider and location
- Use of multiple different medical/clinical based computer systems and office equipment
- Collation of clinical information via extraction from EMR and/or hard copy medical record
- Release of collated information to the requesting party ensuring that patient confidentiality is maintained, and the Privacy Act is adhered to at all times
- Provide other assistance to the ROI Officer as required
- Request medical records from Icon sites and ensure their safe and timely return
- Liaison with Grace Records Management to ensure the timely request/return of medical records from/to the offsite location
- Securely store recalled records, ensuring they are always safe from unauthorised access
- Scan and import clinical documentation into the electronic medical record
- Assist with culling of medical records from offsite storage
- Assist in ordering of medical record supplies for all Icon sites
- Participate in training in different health information management roles in order to provide support as required
- Provide support / annual leave relief for head office medical record clerks

**About you**
- Strong computer skills and troubleshooting abilities. Previous experience with medical practice software desired but not required.
- Previous clerical/administrative experience, preferably in a health care setting
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a small team
- Able to plan, coordinate and organise workloads effectively to achieve quality outcomes in a timely manner
- Customer service skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
