The purpose of the Settlements Manager is to provide strategic and operational claims leadership in ensuring the efficient and effective handling of claims with the Settlements department. This role provides leadership for team leaders and their respective teams who have a direct impact on claim cost outcomes.
These teams are comprised of technical senior motor claims consultants with responsibility for claims management and negotiating favourable settlements with Insurers, representatives and other parties involved in the claim. Ensuring compliance with relevant compliance and regulatory obligations is a key requirement for the role. The role is responsible for analysing claim data and trends to develop key insights and identify areas for improvement.
The Settlements Manager will be responsible for leading the Settlements claims management teams while implementing strategies to streamline the claims settlement process and improve efficiency. Key to contributing to the overall success of the Third Party Recoveries & Settlements business is to establish negotiation strategies and implement them to support business claim cost outcomes.
**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role in the insurance industry or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of motor insurance claims management relative to applicable legislation, processes and industry best practices
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Exceptional communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage, influence and develop others
- High level conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions.
- High level project management experience, i.e. the ability to deliver results within agreed timeframes.
