About the Business Unit
The Strategic Communication Branch delivers communication services on behalf of the department's business units to inform and educate the community about departmental policies, programs and legislation.

About the Role
The Events Officer is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality, well organised and strategically aligned events for the department and for providing effective, professional advice. This role will work closely with other business units in the department, including executive and ministerial offices. The Officer plays a key role in supporting the events team and contributing to its service delivery capacity.

**Some of your duties may include**:

- Coordinate events for Justice Ministers and the Departmental Secretary including all aspects for delivering portfolio events with key accountability for the liaison and preparation of ministerial event briefing documents, ensuring government protocols are maintained and events are delivered to a high standard
- Support the delivery of high quality, well-organised events predominantly through stakeholder management and written communication that represent the department and its ministers, and deliver departmental messages
- High-level event management and coordination of events. Provision of specialist advice to senior executives, business units and ministerial offices, including the preparation of briefings on complex and sensitive matters

About You
- Proven expertise in event and project management for a state government department, including the planning and implementation of event logistics, negotiation with clients and stakeholders and preparation of briefs to ensure service delivery within tight deadlines.

Qualificaitons/Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in public relations, events management or a related discipline is desirable.

- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
