Public Sector People are currently recruiting for an Events Officer to join a High profile Local Government Department. Role available 3 months + extension.
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join this busy department to provide high level events officer support.
**Duties will include**:
- To plan and deliver community and corporate events designed to highlight city assets with a focus on return patronage to
showcase the city as a thriving destination to visit, work and live.
- Design event project plans including project objectives, timelines and sponsorship attraction.
- Assist with the delivery of the operational requirements of the local events, festival and attraction program, and provide support
for the administration of programs.
- Ensure event practices follow health and safety protocols and that risk mitigation strategies are implemented providing duty of
care for event attendees and staff.
- Assist with the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication campaigns to support event
objectives.
- Ensure compliance and implementation of strategic documents in relation to best practice event delivery, event protocols, event
manuals, checklists and strategies to support event objectives across Council.
- Undertake special projects as required by the Marketing and Events Manager.
- The Council Leadership and Performance Capability Framework is used for managing and supporting performance and
development.
- The appointed officer may have to undertake any other duties that are reasonably within scope of their skills, competence and
training.
**Skills required**:
- Must have **Previous Events Expirence**:
- Ability to undertake complex projects in a dynamic and changing environment which have a city-wide focus and impact, within
budget, to agreed timelines, and which achieve the stated outcomes and objectives.
- Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and with a focus on innovation and creative thinking.
- **Event Coordination** - Demonstrated significant experience in the events industry with the proven ability to successfully plan,
deliver and evaluate small and large scale community and corporate events to meet defined objectives and ensure ongoing
improvement. Proven ability to build relationships with key internal partners and influential stakeholders to provide specialist
advice to ensure the event project goals, objectives and strategies deliver on organisational objectives.
**The position may be required to work outside of standard core business hours as required for events & functions.**
