**About the Position**

Reporting through to the WA Sales Manager the key focus of this position is to develop great relationships and to drive sales growth with the carpet retailers within your territory.

Your goal will be to establish yourself as the trusted ‘go to person’ for Victoria Carpets across your territory and your customers will include some of Perth’s leading carpet retailers, most of which have been purchasing carpets from us for many years now. Effective communication and the ability to establish and develop great relationships with this loyal customer base is key to your success.

Importantly, there will be Sales Activity Targets and Revenue Targets that will be set for you to achieve, which will involve things like:

- Visiting and calling on 5 - 7 retailers per day.
- Preparing for these visits in advance - organising what you will take with you, what new information you will share and what questions you will ask.
- Speaking with retailers and developing an understanding of their customer base and the needs and preferences of this customer base.
- Showing retailers samples of existing and new products that will be suited to their customer base.
- Winning more floor space with retailers by recommending the right products and promoting the reasons why they should choose Victoria Carpets as their partner of choice.
- Preparing and submitting weekly sales activity reports.
- Providing the business with customer feedback and competitor insights.

Key to your long-term success in this position will be your ability to develop an excellent knowledge of the Victoria Carpets product range and the workings of the flooring industry. This will take time as you will be working with multiple Carpet, Carpet Tile and Hard Flooring Solutions. Great training and support will be provided to you along this journey as the team at Victoria Carpets know it takes time to learn about the business, the people the products and the systems.

- The knack for problem solving - you’ll view problems as opportunities and enjoy taking a creative, innovative and fresh approach; and,
- Sound computer, numeracy and literacy skills.

Previous experience and a developing knowledge of carpets and/or other flooring products will be well regarded however is not considered essential.
