About the Role
The Category Contract Specialist for Compute Category is responsible for developing effective and strategic suppliers across their category in line with the business plan and drive commercial value for the business over both short
- and medium-term horizons while also managing risks associated with their category.

What will your day look like?
**As a Category Contract Specialist you will**:
Work collaboratively across Procurement and Business to support management of assigned contracts to preserve, maintain and uplift value and manage any performance risks
Provide ongoing commercial advice on the execution requirements of assigned contracts/Master Services Agreement and support the Contract Owner with advice and support
Proactive administration and management of strategic contracts inclusive spend analytics, identification of scope creep and off-contract spend, and commercial KPI tracking/performance reporting
Support and coach suppliers and contract owners/OCMs to optimize supplier performance within the contract terms and help support additional value through improvement initiatives, or support to manage/rectify non performances to contract
Assists Technology Category Leads/Management to manage portfolio risks and governance requirements - Manage contract/scope variations in line with Category plans and provide advice on disputes and claims, support dispute resolution for high value/high risk Contracts
Work with OCM team as required to understand any requirements under the Contract Management Framework and collaborate as required to resolve any issues
Keep abreast of market and supplier advancements, market dynamics, manage spend analysis to identify opportunities considering regional and global priorities and dynamics eg trigger for in-contract opportunities, price renegotiations, specification/demand opportunities
Pursue commercial excellence through continuous improvement to help achieve procurement and business targets and demand savings opportunities
Support business on supplier relationship management activities for ‘category leading’ suppliers
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Understanding of Technology supply market dynamics, Third Party Risk and Regulatory requirements, external leading practice, market trends relevant to spend areas
Understanding of end-to-end procurement lifecycle management across Strategy, Source to Contract, Supplier Relationship Management through to Req. to Pay
Experience in Technology Category or Contract Management; and experience across highly diverse groups of categories and associated contracts
Solid understanding of how to manage risk and demonstrate procurement process disciplines
Strategic thinker to problem solves within highly complex and ambiguous situations
Strong communicator, stakeholder and relationship management; with a high level of commercial acumen and strong negotiations skills
Understands risks and appropriate control options
Strong commercial acumen with ability to analyze cost vs risk trade-offs, understanding of demand side levers and global/regional considerations
Understanding of broader business context and translating into key priorities across contract/category portfolio
