**The Opportunity**:
The Canberra Business Chamber (CBC) is a member based not for profit organisations that represents many key industry associations and community organisations across the ACT.
This is your opportunity to take ownership of the CBC events programme, including planning a calendar of events for the year, establishing budgets, sponsor management and end to end event delivery.
This is a dual role with a 70% focus on event management, and 30% of you time devoted to working with and supporting the CEO.
**Key duties will include**:
- Manage diary appointments for the CEO
- Collating Board papers and preparing monthly business performance dashboards.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Take ownership of CBC's events programme, including:
- o planning a calendar of events for the year;
- o establishing budgets;
- o identifying and securing sponsors;
- o source and secure venues, speakers, entertainment (as required);
- o brief the Marketing & Communications team on requirements;
- o ensure that events are appropriately promoted;
- o manage registrations/ bookings;
**Skills and Experience required**:
Previous experience in an Event Manager position is absolutely essential for this position. Not only will you have experience developing, implementing and delivering successful events but you will also possess the ability to manage sponsorship and membership opportunities, and quickly build rapport with existing and new suppliers.
The key to success in this role will be your strong stakeholder engagement skills and existing connections across the Canberra market. You will have deep passion for community and business, and have the ability to tap in to your network to assist with delivering events to a high standard.
