About the role
As the Coordinator Maritime Planning, you will be responsible for the delivery of local port area planning and maritime planning projects for the Region and provide technical advice on maritime planning matters/legislation. In delivering the maritime planning project you will be required to have a good understanding of project management; specialist technical maritime and waterway planning and design skills; provide analysis and advice; manage procurement and delivery by external contractors; lead engagement tasks and complex negotiations with community, industry stakeholders and government agencies; and have a good understanding of the Marine and Coastal Act, Port Management Act, Marine Safety Act and Water Industry Act, and relevant regulations.

**We're looking for someone with**:

- Demonstrated experience in precinct planning and the successful delivery of complex, multi-dimensional planning, and design projects, is essential.
- Working knowledge of the coastal, marine, and maritime planning and relevant legislation
- A tertiary qualification in maritime or coastal planning, environmental planning, or landscape architecture or similar is or is required.
- Strong written and verbal, presentation and communication skills, including leading stakeholder and community engagement.

Parks Victoria's vision is to be a world-class parks service, ensuring healthy parks for healthy people. It is a statutory authority with responsibility for managing an expanding and diverse estate covering more than 4 million hectares, or about 17 per cent, of Victoria. The Southern and Maritime Region consists of a diverse range parks reserves, Local Ports and waterways including the districts South East Melbourne, Port Phillip Western Port and Waterways Districts. Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response. The Regional Operations Team is responsible for preparing the Regional Operations Plan and supporting delivery of project and programs as outlined in the plan.
