Customer Technology Specialist

**Description**:** ABOUT THE ROLE**:
This role is accountable for supporting the Australian commercial team in the development and launch of new products as well as providing technical support and shaping new product concepts for strategic products in key markets. Key markets of focus are winter broadacre cereals and horticulture.
This role will primarily have a focus on Plant nutritional products, working with emerging biological technologies to quantify performance and identify attributes defining success. This role will require a high degree of interpersonal effectiveness to work across internal stakeholders, industry partners, and customers.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Active participation as a SME in product concept teams
- Working closely with the sales team and other networks this role will represent market dynamics, and customer needs
- Have a high degree of technical competence to develop and represent supportive technical information and demonstration programs
- Supporting the sales team, industry partners, and key customer contacts for the technical elements of a new product launch, including activities and events from pre-launch through to Launch + 3 years.
- Provides technical assistance and technical transfer to the sales team and key external influencers for selected products and projects,
- Identifies and validates new business opportunities and supports commercial team to capture value of new sales from existing products through recognition of un-met customer needs,
- Creates an active network of key technical influencers (consultants, senior agronomists, govt influencers, industry associations and large growers) to influence product choice, understand market trends/gaps and provide technical support,
- Coordinates and executes (as needed) product or program demonstrations to drive product awareness and adoption.
- Account management to nominated customer accounts
**Qualifications**:
- Considerable experience (10+ years), technical expertise in Broadacre and Horticultural plant nutrition, and nutrition management
- Demonstrated understanding of agronomy relating to plant physiology and applied management
- Broad communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create networks across multiple stakeholders (farmers, consultants, food chain, govt officials, technical experts),
- Able to lead product training (internal and external)
- Ability to build strong, resilient relationships with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to balance technical transfer and deliver commercial outcomes
- Ability to recognize grower needs and develop solutions (i.e. existing or new projects)
- Willingness to travel.
- Written proficiency for first draft of tech notes for new uses or product launch
