The Project Officer contributes to the management of various grant programs within the Energy Projects and Programs Division of the Energy Group. The Project Officer sits within the New Energy Innovation team, managing contracts for projects that test and implement emerging technologies, including microgrids and other renewable energy technologies.

The Project Officer provides guidance, advice and direction for activities needed to deliver on programs within specified timeframes and to the satisfaction of the Program Manager and executives. Critical to success, the Project Officer has proven project/program delivery experience and takes the lead to identify and assess options to solve problems; manage projects on time and within budget; and provide outstanding excellence in program delivery. The position requires a motivated individual with strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and flexibly as a key team member.

**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**
- A tertiary qualification in energy, public policy, project management, technology development or related tertiary qualification is desirable.
- A high-level understanding of government processes including grants administration, the energy sector and renewable energy technologies is desirable.
- An understanding of policies and issues, both local and international, relating to energy policy is desirable.

**This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2023. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.**
