About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Material Demand Officer - Bill of Materials, to join our Maritime Australia business on the Hunter Class Frigate Program based at Osborne, Adelaide. You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team, reporting to the Bill of Materials (BoM) Integration Manager, and will be employed on a permanent full time basis.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to design and deliver the world's most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BoM) and Bill of Quantity (BoQ) databases relating to supply chain material demand
- Act as the point of contact for Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) based material demand queries, from Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering and Production Planning stakeholders
- Produce a variety of material related reports from various systems
- Ensure the quality of data in the BoM/BoQ databases, effectively manage and manipulate data
- Liaise with engineering stakeholders to record and understand material requirements
- Ensure Advance Bill of Materials are created and material demand is in place for all required materials in line with ship builds
- Liaise closely with the program domain specialists to resolve and mitigate material issues
- Collaborate effectively and build good relationships with stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture, and facilitate the effective sharing of information
About YOU
- Material Demand systems experience and experiencing managing and manipulating material demand data
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel, and a good understanding of typical product data sets and its product data lifecycle
- Self-motivation, good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships
