Your Opportunity
As a key member of the Applied Science and Business Faculty you will respond to enquiries and provide timely and accurate information and assistance to staff, consumers and visitors to facilitate effective service delivery within a dental clinic care setting. The role will provide support for the management of the quality systems that ensures the environment is one of quality and safety.
This Part-Time (2 days per week) opportunity reports to the relevant Delivery Support Manager.
This position will be based primarily at the Southbank Campus.
This role requires the ability to work on Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
- Live a safety culture, lead by example and support the Health Safety and Environment Management System to create a TAFE Queensland Brisbane-wide safety culture.
- Provide first point of call, reception and telephone response service for consumers and staff, providing an effective and courteous front counter service.
- Utilise information systems to record and update all consumer/patient data and information including, medical details and/or referral details ensuring data integrity and client confidentiality.
- Follow TAFE Queensland recommendations and expectations in relation to managing and maintaining record keeping and filling systems.
- Utilise various software packages and systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Dentrix or a similar medical customer service software.
- In consultation with the Delivery Support Manager, assist with tasks of a financial nature including procurement, payment of accounts out in accordance with Financial Management Standards and related policies and procedures.
- Work autonomously to provide professional, efficient and timely customer service and advice to internal and external clients, use effective questioning, negotiation and conflict management to ensure customer satisfaction and respond in a timely and appropriate manner to verbal and written enquiries.
- Proactively manage your own workflow, take ownership for the accurate completion of your work, perform duties in line with guidelines, procedures and compliance requirements and continually seek improvement in the way in which work is performed.
- In consultation with the Delivery Support Manager, actively participate in appropriate networks, marketing activities and outbound campaigns where required to promote TAFE Queensland Brisbane Region.
- Undertake other work as directed.

- Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of basic medical terminology to extract and interpret pertinent information from patient medical records and systems.
- Ability to work independently and organise, track and prioritise tasks to meet set deadlines, displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
- Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships, and working collaboratively to foster a positive and cohesive work environment.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills with a strong commitment to working in a team environment.

Highly Desirable Requirements
- Certificate IV in business, administration or similar; or a willingness to obtain qualifications.
- Administrative experience in a team environment is also highly regarded.
