**About the role**
In this role, you'll perform essential labouring tasks focused on maintaining city assets as part of the City Works team. You will deliver efficient and safe construction and maintenance services, actively contributing to a customer-focused and commercially driven operation, and accurately recording and reporting team activities. There are two full time positions available, based at the Belmont Operations Centre.

Key responsibilities include:

- Respond and deliver an effective, efficient, safe construction and/or maintenance service to a variety of City Works activities.
- Assist the City Works Department in providing a customer focused service and commercially driven operation.
- Accurately record and complete all operational documentation that records the activities of the team, and forward to the supervisor on a weekly basis or as required.
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment in an effective and efficient manner and in compliance with relevant laws/regulations, codes of practice and organisational directives.
- Work within all relevant health and safety policies promoting the use of appropriate personal safety equipment provided.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Current Victorian Drivers licence
- Demonstrated skills and experience in undertaking a variety of road related maintenance and/or civil construction tasks.
- Ability to perform manual work including lifting of weights in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
- Working knowledge of relevant safe work practices within a civil engineering environment.
- Communication skills including the ability to gain cooperation from residents.
- Time management skills and organising own work to established objectives.
