We are looking for a **Manager Safety Assurance Programs** to join the Jetstar team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the annual safety audit and safety investigations program. You will work with the wider Qantas Group to develop a group wide plan that covers all operational areas including engineering, cabin crew, ground operations and more. Alongside this, you will oversee the facilitation of the Flight Data Program and plays a key role in ensuring the continued operational safety of Jetstar Airways, by working with management to improve safety management systems through the various assurance activities.

**To be considered for this role, key skills will include**:

- Previous experience managing safety management functions, ideally within aviation or an operational environment
- Previous managerial experience with the ability to drive change
- Qualifications as an auditor/lead auditor in quality/safety management systems and safety investigations.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with all levels of management
- The ability to build constructive, respected and effective working relationships with formal and informal networks and work across different businesses with a focus on solution
- Demonstrated ability and competency in managing and interpreting data and using business intelligence reporting systems
- Ability to successfully work in a team environment as an individual who demonstrates flexibility, self-motivation, enthusiasm and sound judgement
- Superior time management and organisational skills with the ability to work across multiple complex tasks concurrently and deliver quality output
- Degree or related qualification in aviation or business management is preferred but not essential
- The role will be required to act as Head of Safety when the incumbent is out of office or on annual leave and as such must be able to meet the Safety Manager requirements as per CASR Part 119.
