Key Responsibilities
- Ensure zero harm to employees, both physically and psychosocially
- Maintain current knowledge of health, safety and well-being requirements
- Coach and support leaders in managing safety
- Communicate safety issues and alerts
- Report on health and safety objectives, targets, and statistics
- Drive safety behavioural leadership programmes
- Participate in wellbeing initiatives
- Manage safety platforms, policies, plans and systems
- Lead incident investigations
- Participate in safety committees
- Liaise with service providers and regulatory bodies
- Lead emergency planning and business continuity efforts
- Develop and facilitate health and safety training
- Lead the Health and Safety Administrator
- Participate in safety audits
- Manage WorkCover claims and injury management
Facilities Management
- Oversee maintenance and operations of facilities
- Implement facility improvement initiatives
- Manage building maintenance, repairs and renovations
- Supervise vendor contracts and service agreements
- Conduct facility inspections and audits
- Develop emergency response plans and procedures
Requirements
- Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulations
- Experience in health and safety management systems
- Proven ability to improve safety performance and culture
- Strong people skills and relationship building
- Experience in hazard identification and risk management
- Ability to analyse safety data and trends
- Effective communication skills at all levels
- Ability to influence and persuade
- Positive and professional approach
- Technical expertise and commitment to skills development
- Incident investigation skills (ICAM training desirable)
- Tertiary qualifications in health and safety (essential)
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Postgraduate qualifications (desirable)
The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity, collaboration, emotional intelligence, commercial judgement and an active contribution to the company's success. Periodic travel across may be required annually.
