Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure zero harm to employees, both physically and psychosocially
  • Maintain current knowledge of health, safety and well-being requirements
  • Coach and support leaders in managing safety
  • Communicate safety issues and alerts
  • Report on health and safety objectives, targets, and statistics
  • Drive safety behavioural leadership programmes
  • Participate in wellbeing initiatives
  • Manage safety platforms, policies, plans and systems
  • Lead incident investigations
  • Participate in safety committees
  • Liaise with service providers and regulatory bodies
  • Lead emergency planning and business continuity efforts
  • Develop and facilitate health and safety training
  • Lead the Health and Safety Administrator
  • Participate in safety audits
  • Manage WorkCover claims and injury management

Facilities Management

  • Oversee maintenance and operations of facilities
  • Implement facility improvement initiatives
  • Manage building maintenance, repairs and renovations
  • Supervise vendor contracts and service agreements
  • Conduct facility inspections and audits
  • Develop emergency response plans and procedures

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulations
  • Experience in health and safety management systems
  • Proven ability to improve safety performance and culture
  • Strong people skills and relationship building
  • Experience in hazard identification and risk management
  • Ability to analyse safety data and trends
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to influence and persuade
  • Positive and professional approach
  • Technical expertise and commitment to skills development
  • Incident investigation skills (ICAM training desirable)
  • Tertiary qualifications in health and safety (essential)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Postgraduate qualifications (desirable)

The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity, collaboration, emotional intelligence, commercial judgement and an active contribution to the company's success. Periodic travel across may be required annually.
