**About the Business Unit**
The Assurance business unit manages corporate assurance functions for the department and its Ministers. It is responsible for:
- Risk management
- Crisis, business continuity and emergency management
- Internal and external audit
- Protective security
- Freedom of information and privacy
- Records and information management
- Mail and archive services
- Environment and climate change
- Secretariat services for the Audit and Rick Management Committee, Gambling and Lotteries Licence Independent Review Panel and the Justice Human Research Ethics Committee.
**About the Role**
The role of the Project Officer, Assurance
- Provide specialist administrative and corporate support to the Assurance team
- Efficiently and appropriately handle briefs and correspondence
- Support the Assurance work program through project work as required
- Provide support to branch, group and departmental executives as required
Some of your duties may include:
- Perform a wide range of confidential executive, administrative and office management duties for the Assurance business unit, including support for the Assurance executive, dissemination of complex correspondence and detailed reports as well as be the initial point of contact for inquiries.
- Provide authoritative advice to Assurance staff on financial, human resource, briefing and correspondence systems and other work processes.
- Oversee the business unit's budget, ensuring that the organisation's needs are met in an efficient and effective manner in line with departmental guidelines and that invoices are paid in a compliant and timely manner.
**About You**
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to credibly communicate at all levels of an organisation and externally on behalf of an organisation.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in the provision of high-level administrative, office management and secretarial support to senior management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of or familiarity with DJCS core business including its processes and procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification / experience is desirable. Relevant experience in a government role is preferred but not essential.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of **three doses** of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).
