Hobart, Australia Davidson Group Services Full time

Genuinely exciting and challenging role
- A mix of technical and strategic
- Based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport

TasWater is Tasmania's sole water and sewerage provider and a major employer with high impacts on the economy, environment, and wellbeing of the state. Employing more than 900 staff, we are a values-driven organisation striving to achieve the vision of "being trusted, respected and making a positive difference in Tasmania". We are going through an exciting period of growth, and have an opportunity for a Manager Dams Safety to join the team and contribute to the overall success of the organisation and the state.

Reporting to the Head of Asset Lifecycle Management, the Manager Dams Safety will play a lead role in optimising dam safety and maintenance activities for TasWater. Your civil engineering expertise and water sector experience will enable you to plan for and lead the future strategy relating to dams management across the state. You will lead the strategic and technical direction for new dam and improvement projects, as well as leading the planning, design, supervision and delivery of the minor dam improvement program. Using your strategic skillset, you will create an integrated program of works, focused on identifying and mitigating risks and ensuring all compliance and regulatory standards are met. You will engage collaboratively across the organisation to ensure planning and delivery teams are working in sync to deliver for the customers. You will manage a high-performing team of technical experts and consultants, bringing them along on the journey as you focus on the future. You will take a long-term view of what success looks like for the team, the organisation and the industry in Tasmania, including developing industry partnerships and long-term asset strategies.

As an organisation who are only 10 years old and still discovering the true breadth and potential of the dams under management, TasWater is able to offer a genuinely exciting opportunity for a Manager Dams Safety who enjoys a strategic challenge. This is a real legacy opportunity.

Please note this role can be based at either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport.
