Chief Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive improvements in workplace safety performance through the delivery of our health and safety programs.
- Identify and manage risks associated with work-related injuries and illnesses within our business.
- Provide expert advice on health and safety matters and support a culture of safe working practices throughout the organization.
- Ensure that our health and safety policies and procedures reflect the highest standards.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, initiatives, and tasks as required by the Safety Lead.
- Develop, analyze, and report on complex project performance, compliance, and defects or non-conformance.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of 5-10 years' experience in a health and safety role within a construction environment, preferably in civil or mechanical/electrical/water infrastructure.
- A high level of knowledge of health and safety management system techniques and tools.
- Demonstrated skill and experience in qualitative risk assessment and development and monitoring of risk controls.
- Demonstrated skill and experience in conducting and interpreting audits and reviews.
- A high level of knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and statutes and the ability to interpret applicable laws and regulations.
