People & Culture Administration Officer

Local Government authority based in the northern suburbs | Initially a 3-month contract | $36 - $39 per hour + super | Supporting the people & culture team

**About the company**:
A local government based in the northern suburbs is looking for someone to join their people and culture team. The core function of the role is to provide day to day administrative support in a highly autonomous, fast paced working environment. The role engages with a number of internal stakeholders across a variety of human resource initiatives and projects and enables the smooth functioning of the team.

This role is full-time, working Monday - Friday and you will be required to work from their offices. The position is initially a 3-month contract that could lead to longer term opportunities.

**Your key responsibilities include**:

- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders to support the integration and implementation of People & Culture initiatives across the organisation.
- Providing administrative support to the Manager People & Culture and the team within the department including People & Culture Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and Payroll.
- Responsibility for entering, updating, and maintaining data on the Human Resources Information System (CHRIS21)
- Provide administration support to key People & Culture led projects, including supporting the development of project plans, communication material, presentations, templates, meeting agendas and minutes, and document management.
- Establish and maintain several team and committee meetings ensuring agendas are prepared, minutes are taken where required, and the circulation of documents are provided to team members ahead of meetings.
- Administer financial support for the People & Culture department, including the management of purchase orders, receipting and tracking of invoices in accordance with approved procurement policy and procedures.

**You will have the following**:

- Formal HR qualifications or experience working in a HR department
- Keen interest in People & Culture disciplines
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and ideally some knowledge of a HRIS system
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience in supporting projects with tight timeframes and robust governance requirements
- Proven ability to self-organise and exhibit initiative to manage workload
- Experience in managing multiple tasks and initiatives within tight timeframes
- Basic ability to manage financial accounts
