**How will I help?**
This role involves working with internal Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) Finance and Treasury Finance teams both locally and with the offshore branches to ensure appropriate financial reporting and control over financial data relating to areas of responsibility.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the London and New York Offshore Treasury month end reporting. This will include monthly reconciliations, Balance Sheet review, journal preparation and oversight of suspense clearing.
- Prepare financial statements disclosure notes, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery to Group.
- Oversee and work closely with the outsourced supplier to ensure the assigned tasks are accurately performed and within SLA.
- Perform monthly balance sheet review and commentary for WIB Supporting business unit and support semi-annual Finance Assurance Certificate sign-off, including validation of accrued balances.
- Obtain key knowledge on how Multiple Reporting Currencies (MRC) Oracle ledger operates in WIB and Treasury offshore business and their impact on Group’s AUD reporting ledger. Support and provide SME advice.
- Identify process weakness and contribute to risk mitigation design and implementation, with aims of continuous simplification and improvement.
- Support new product and project implementation in the relevant responsible areas.

**What do I need?**
- Tertiary qualification and CA/CPA designation or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years financial accounting experience in financial institution / Banking. Institutional/market product exposure is an advantage.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial accounting and financial control in financial institution environment
- Understands priorities of and adhere to deadlines
- Strong communications and influencing skills.
- Experience in accounting / finance systems, practical experience in Oracle is preferred.
