As a growing municipality City of Whittlesea is diverse and responsive to the rapidly changing community needs. The Maternal & Child Health Unit has incorporated two newly activated Service Lead roles into the structure to provide additional support to the Unit Manager and Coordinators to deliver quality outcomes and respond to opportunities for innovation in the delivery of our Maternal and Child Health Service.

Reporting to the Unit Manager Child & Family Health in this position, you will be responsible for the effective program delivery across all parameters of our Maternal & Child Health Unit including Universal MCH, Enhanced MCH, administration and other Leadership components of the Unit. You will provide guidance and leadership to ensure we meet the high expectations of our diverse and growing community. You will work with the team to ensure we continue to achieve professional practise standards, developing efficient and effective systems, working in collaboration with other leaders across the Maternal and Child Health Unit.

As an MCH Service Lead you will be supporting the MCH in a new service model structure with Service Leads in place driving and embedding best practice standards across the MCH sector. You will also use innovation to continue to develop the MCH team in order for the families to experience an exceptional level of service. Your strong leadership skills will see you supporting and implementing staff through change whilst overseeing daily operations, which will enable our coordinators to support our MCH nurses in the field.

**About you**
- Extensive experience of minimum 6 years working in MCH, including within a leadership capacity that will support and guide the MCH team, driving efficient and effective service delivery
- Innovative mindset, identifying and implementing positive change and creating opportunities for collaboration
- A strategic focus to our operational activities, utilising a continuous improvement approach to planning processes and review of current practices
- Collaborative approach to service planning and improvement, identifying and capitalising on opportunities to improve
- Extensive knowledge and experience working in a family centred approach with families experiencing vulenrabilities
- Knowledge and understanding of current theory and practice and issues affecting the design and delivery of MCH service
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, providing clear and strategic problem solving to the team

**Mandatory Qualifications to practice as a MCH Nurse in Victoria, as outlined in the Position Description**
- Current registration with AHPRA:

- Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- Registered Midwife, and;
In addition to the above registrations, **accredited postgraduate Diploma/Degree (or equivalent) in Child and Family Health Nursing.**
