**Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrated experience and skills in coordinating a specific education support function, for example hiring of facilities, contractors and student transport requirements.
- A demonstrated ability to use relevant School computer packages including CASES21, Conveyance Allowance, AIMS and XUNO or a willingness to learn these programs.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with a range of people and groups within the wider community.
- Ability to effectively work as part of an administration team within a specialised education setting and manage one’s own time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently.
- A willingness to learn and develop communication in sign language to communicate with deaf staff, parents and children by attending school provided Auslan classes.

**Role**:
**Under the direction of the Business and Office Managers, the Transport Program Co-ordinator/Administration Officer will co-ordinate the daily transport arrangements for the students, support the general administration of the school, manage the day to day operations of the Community Learning Centre, Contractors and provide confidential administrative support to the Administration and Management Teams as directed.**:
This is a challenging and diverse role, and the successful applicant will need to be organised, enthusiastic, flexible, caring and use initiative whilst undertaking a variety of duties.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate daily transport arrangements for students by liaising with external providers, families and staff. Maintain transport data base, records, roster and attendance.
- Coordinate the Community Learning Centre bookings, catering and facilities.
- Undertake reception, clerical and keyboard duties in support of the school administration function.
- Support the work of the Administrative Team with processes and assistance as required
- Maintain and use the school's records system, including computerised student and school records in Cases 21, XUNO and AIMS
- Assist in the administration of the Conveyance system.
- Coordinate the implementation of requisitioning, purchasing and issuing procedures.
- Liaise with contractors for school maintenance and be responsible for the contractor data base, records and compliance.
- Be accountable for quality, accuracy and timeliness of tasks undertaken.
- This role requires attendance from 8:30am school days.
- Other duties as required by the Principal.

- Aurora School is a Department of Education and Early Childhood (DE) school which specialises in Early Intervention and Early Education programs for deaf and deafblind children throughout Victoria with the main campus in Blackburn South and an additional office in Sunshine._
- Aurora School Early Intervention program is a statewide Department of Education service for young deaf children aged 0 to 6 and their families. Aurora provides regular homebased support from collaborative teams which include teachers of the deaf, educational psychologists, social workers, speech and language therapists, and Deaf educators. Bilingual programs are provided in which young deaf children are encouraged to acquire early communication and language skills by being exposed to both spoken and signed languages. The development of children’s listening skills is encouraged at all times. The program operates in term times only._
- The Early Education Program specialises in education programs for young deaf children from three years of age. Within an Early Childhood Curriculum Framework there is a strong emphasis on the development of communication skills (listening, speaking, signing, reading and writing) and effective use of both expressive and receptive language._ We provide a Bilingual program ensuring children have access to both English and Auslan role models. _
