Raging Waters Sydney - Lifeguard

About the role:
Lifeguards at Raging Waters Sydney are responsible for supervising and overseeing guests in aquatic locations and acting immediately to ensure the safety of guests in the event of an emergency.

Lifeguards provide water rescue, first aid, administering oxygen and emergency care and treatment as required. Lifeguards need to enforce safety rules and pay close attention to swimmer activities and behaviour. Lifeguards are to maintain exceptional guest service and professionalism whilst assisting the guests to ride the attractions safely.

Position options available include Lifeguard, Junior Lifeguard and Shallow Water Lifeguard, dependent on age and swimming ability levels.

APPLICANTS MUST BE 16 YEARS OR OLDER.

NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATION REQUIRED.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Ensure safety is the primary focus of service delivery.- Supervision of the General Public.- Ensure all aquatics and attractions areas, are always supervised and that all policies and procedures are being followed.- Adhere to Ellis & Associates Standards and Guidelines.- Ensure the parks "Keep Watch" policy is enforced.- To know and enforce all Raging Waters Sydney policies relating to service delivery.- Have knowledge of all attractions and their components.- Responsible for identifying problems and displaying authority in dealing with the General Public.- Recognise problems and make decisions to help resolve the problem. Effectively communicate serious nature problems to the Head Guard.- Relay accurate information and advice to Guests in a pleasant and helpful manner.- Listen to Guests and offer options available to meet their needs.- To ensure that all guests and team members abide by the policies and procedures determined by the Management team.-
- To attend and participate in all in-service training sessions.- To ensure that all tests, forms, and records are completed neatly, accurately and are completed in a timely fashion.- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Operations department.- Report any faults that arise during the day. Monitor the technical equipment for any machinery failure and maintenance required.- To assist in the opening and closing procedures and the clean and tidy presentation of the park.- Maintaining Park presentation standards to the highest level.- Assist with general cleaning of the park and grounds as seen to be necessary and as directed.- Assist with pressure washing duties outside of park operating hours as directed.- Responsible for assisting with over park cleanliness including sweeping, trash pick-up, clearing and cleaning tables, emptying trash cans, maintaining picnic areas, maintaining birthday & cabana areas, work areas and restrooms.- To carry out all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Guard, Aquatic Coordinator, Operations Manager, Director of Operations, or member of the Management Team.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS):
- Follow and comply with Work Health Safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.- Correctly use all safety and personal protective equipment.- Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours.- Report WHS incidents, injuries and safety activities to your direct Manager and First Aid at the time it occurs.- Promote proactive hazard/ near miss reporting. Report any hazards or near-miss incidents to your direct Manager and the People & Culture Director.- Attend Work Group Meetings to discuss and promote safety.

**Education**:
Essential- Ellis & Associates Special Facilities Lifeguard License (this training is provided by Raging Waters Sydney)- Attractions Essentials Training (this training is provided by Raging Waters Sydney)- Current Working with Children Check

Desirable- Manual Handling Training- Conflict Resolution Training
