Payroll Manager

As we continue to expand our teams, we have a newly created role for a Payroll Manager to join Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) on a permanent full - time basis.
As a member of the Management team, you will hold a pivotal role in supporting staff and ensuring appropriate governance and compliance regarding employee pay and entitlements.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the end - end payroll and entitlements processes, Award / Enterprise Agreement interpretation, employee taxes, superannuation and support our budgeting and forecasting process regarding employment related costs.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
**Payroll**:
- Ensure calculation, approval and release of all pays and other disbursements is complete, accurate and on time
- Monitor and reconcile payroll deductions, including employee benefits and salary packaging, superannuation contributions, garnishee, child support etc
- Ensure the highest levels of payroll information integrity, data governance and confidentiality are maintained
- Provide payroll SME & liaison on various business initiatives and projects
- Maintain payroll processes, policies and procedures
**Team Leadership**:
- Manage a team of five including 1 x Payroll Supervisor, 4 x Payroll Officers
**Selection Criteria**:
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency essential (We do not offer sponsorship for this position)
- Relevant professional qualification (E.g., Degree or Certificate plus appropriate professional organisation such as CPP
- Extensive experience managing the payroll in a large, multi-location, time & attendance based environment with a complex Enterprise Agreement - We process 2,000 + Fortnightly pays
- Strong people leadership skills, managing conflicting priorities and communicating with staff across the whole organisation
- Strong systems and process knowledge (particularly Payroll Metrics, Optima 11 / RosterOn) desirable however other systems experience will be considered
