JLT Risk Solutions Pty Ltd (a business of Marsh & McLennan Companies) is the appointed Scheme Manager to the Local Government Association Mutual Liability Scheme (LGAMLS). The LGAMLS provides the broadest and most extensive civil liability protection to its members which are Local Government Councils and prescribed bodies. As the Scheme manager, JLT Risk Solutions manages Claims, provides risk advice, and delivers risk management services for all Local Government in South Australia.
JLT Risk Solutions has managed the LGAMLS for over 30 years and is committed to achieving excellence in liability claims management and risk advice to the Local Government sector. It is widely recognised as one of the most effective and successful discretionary mutual funds in Australia, consistently delivering value for money risk protection and services to its members.
In this role, you will be a trusted resource that Members will refer to when seeking advice on the Local Government legal and regulatory environment. Working in a dedicated team you will be a team player committed to providing clients with first class service.

The Claims Consultant will be responsible for a range of tasks relating to the handling of claims received from the Local Government Members. This includes assessing of claims in line with business rules, product and core systems.
**In this role, you will be responsible for**:
- Triage all new claims received by the LGAMLS on daily basis, distribute in accordance with set processes and protocols
- Undertake technical claims administration including gathering information, claim determination, preparing correspondence, calculating settlements and processing payments
- Identify and pursue all opportunities of achieving appropriate risk advice and timely claim resolution for civil liability claims, to achieve effective financial outcomes
- Build and maintain good rapport with external and internal stakeholders
- Provide administrative and claim management support in a team environment as required, to ensure the LGAMLS achieves timely outcomes in accordance with agreed service delivery standards
- Onsite Client Servicing - Delivering of results and recommendations, as required
- Any other ad hoc tasks as required
**We would like you to have**:
- Ability to think on your feet and receptive to deliver exception client servicing skills and corresponding attitude
- Ability to focus on detail and work independently within a committed team environment
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with Councils, Claimants, Lawyers, Assessors and relevant other Parties
- Experience in managing claim processes from inception through to finalization
- Strong advocacy, negotiating and analytical skills
- Data processing, analysis and reporting skills
- Legal qualification preferred but not essential
