Overview

Privacy Management Specialist (6-Month Contract) is a role to support the implementation of privacy initiatives and operational risk management activities. This position helps ensure compliance with privacy regulations, enhances risk management practices, and strengthens the company\'s governance framework.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct retrospective Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) on the company\'s key systems and service providers to evaluate compliance with privacy standards.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the company\'s Privacy Risk Register and tracking actions arising from PIAs.
  • Perform walkthroughs of business processes with relevant stakeholders to map how personal information flows throughout the company.
  • Develop tailored training materials for teams or directorates based on their interaction with personal information, focusing on Information Privacy Principles.
  • Participate in working committees related to privacy risk management, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the review, refinement, and finalization of the Privacy Management Framework, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Identify gaps in current practices for managing personal information and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Support other tasks as directed by the Principal Privacy Risk and Assurance Advisor.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Project and Operational Risk Advisor to assist business units in maintaining and updating the company\'s operational risk registers.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of business processes with stakeholders to understand workflows, identify risk exposures, decision points, and control activities.
  • Facilitate accurate documentation of risk entries by risk owners, ensuring they reflect the current risk landscape and control environment.
  • Identify control gaps, overlaps, or weaknesses during process reviews; recommend enhancements to strengthen controls.
  • Propose continuous improvements to the structure, content, and usability of operational risk registers to enhance visibility, traceability, and responsiveness to emerging threats.
  • Support alignment between operational risks, the Board\'s strategic risk register, and the company\'s Risk Appetite Statement.
  • Coordinate with business units to validate risk ownership, monitor mitigation actions, and escalate risks exceeding defined tolerance thresholds.
  • Completed retrospective Privacy Impact Assessments for key systems/service providers.
  • Updated Privacy Risk Register with actionable items tracked effectively.
  • Documented workflows detailing personal information flows within the company.
  • Tailored training materials on Information Privacy Principles for specific teams/directorates.
  • Finalized Privacy Management Framework incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
  • Enhanced operational risk registers reflecting current risks, controls, and mitigation strategies.
