About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join SAS as a Business / Practice Operations Manager. This pivotal role leads operational strategy and performance across the organisation, supporting the Board in managing finance, risk, and facilities. The role ensures the Practice operates efficiently, ethically, and in line with all statutory and compliance obligations.
Working closely with our anaesthetists and administrative team, the Business Manager contributes to the ongoing development of SAS's strategic, financial, and operational functions. This broad and strategic role also includes project-based work and other responsibilities that support the evolving needs of the business
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership to administrative staff and support strategic direction with the Board
Oversee HR, payroll, performance reviews, staff development, and OH&S
Support financial reporting, manage KPIs, oversee creditors/debtors and ASIC compliance, and meeting documentation
Ensure smooth daily operations and vendor relationships (e.g. IT, payroll, legal, property)
Oversee use and training for the Practice Management software and maintain IT systems/data
Collaborate with directors on business areas like finance, property, IT, recruitment, and rostering
Develop and implement internal policies and procedures
Proven experience in similar business/practice operations management role, preferably within the healthcare industry
Strong financial management and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification (desirable)
Strong skills in financial oversight, systems administration, and team leadership
Proficiency in finance/payroll and business software and familiarity with Xero
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to lead through growth and change
