Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia Forsight Full time
Overview

Are you an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Team Leader with a passion for supporting your clients and helping to lead a small team under our Active Support model? Join a caring organisation where it's all about enhancing inclusion, independence, and the well-being of our clients and staff. We are actively seeking a Team Leader in the Illawarra area.

About Us

At Forsight Australia, we believe in creating positive futures through our commitment to innovation, diversity, and continuous learning. As a leading organisation in our field, we are dedicated to fostering a workplace culture that values individual contributions, embraces diversity, and promotes professional growth.

As a 'for-purpose' organisation providing Supported Independent Living (SIL) to individuals with a range of sensory impairments and additional disabilities, our focus is to create opportunities for our clients to enhance their independence, inclusion, and well-being.

Forsight was established in 1978 by a group of parents and teachers wanting to ensure their children had a pathway to independent living as young adults and beyond. Their mission has expanded to include people with a range of sensory impairments and disabilities, supporting a growing number of clients in homes. The love and dedication of those original parents and teachers remains at the heart of all we do.

With 16 shared accommodation homes across Greater Sydney and the Illawarra and growing, our mission is to provide high-quality care and improve the quality of life for our clients.

You can visit our website at www.forsight.org.au to learn more.

About the role

Our Team Leaders work within a hybrid model, combining frontline client support with leadership responsibilities. Typically, they work a shift work roster, spending time alongside our Active Support Workers (ASWs), with two dedicated shifts per week allocated to team leader duties.

In this role, the Team Leader works closely with a dedicated Client Care Manager and Client Care Coordinator to lead a small, home-based team of ASWs, delivering person-centred support that empowers clients in their daily lives.

Strong communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, such as families, guardians, and other service providers, is essential. Equally important is the ability to lead, support, and develop a small but passionate team to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
