Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia Ello Care Full time $75,000 - $90,000 per year

Ello Care is a registered NDIS provider specialising in supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities. We offer a unique approach to Supported Independent Living, where participants live in purpose built, single occupant homes designed to promote privacy, safety, and genuine independence. Our SIL model moves away from traditional shared accommodation. Instead, it focuses on creating calm, stable environments tailored to each participant's needs. These homes allow individuals to maintain their own space while still receiving consistent, high-quality support

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our team. This role is pivotal in guiding frontline staff, ensuring consistent high quality support for participants, and working closely with the Service Manager to oversee day to day operations across our SIL complexes.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Team Leader, you'll balance staff leadership with participant-focused responsibilities. You will guide and direct Support Workers and Key Workers, ensuring that services are delivered reliably, consistently, and in line with each participant's Behaviour Support Plan and NDIS goals. The role combines administrative responsibilities, planning, and forward thinking with a hands-on approach, stepping in to support participants directly when required to ensure a positive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and guidance to Support Workers and Key Workers, fostering a culture of accountability, consistency, and person centred care
  • Support the Service Manager in overseeing daily operations across the SIL home, ensuring service delivery aligns with NDIS Practice Standards and Ello Care's values
  • Oversee stocktakes and management of complex requirements and supplies, including participant needs, cleaning products, and general property maintenance
  • Monitor shift notes, incident reports, and participant records, ensuring accuracy, timely follow up, and clear communication across the team
  • Lead team meetings and shift handovers to build staff capability and ensure continuity of care
  • Assist with rostering changes, staff allocation, and ensuring adequate coverage to meet participant needs
  • Provide escalation support to staff during behavioural or operational challenges, promoting trauma informed and recovery oriented approaches
  • Oversee medication management processes, including compliance checks, documentation, and reordering processes
  • Liaising with stakeholders, allied health professionals, and external providers on a range of participant care requirements.
  • Support participants with planning and booking medical appointments, preparing appointment forms, and ensuring follow-through on outcomes and required actions
  • Ensure weekly risk assessments, wellbeing check ins, and feedback sessions are completed for each participant
  • Contribute to a calm, stable, and supportive environment where both staff and participants feel safe, respected, and empowered

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in the psychosocial disability sector, with strong knowledge of recovery oriented practice
  • Demonstrated leadership experience guiding, supervising, or mentoring staff in a support or care environment
  • Strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, compliance requirements, and quality frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, report writing, and incident management
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and support multiple homes

Qualifications & Checks

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Disability, or related field (desirable)
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in disability or mental health services (essential)
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • National Police Check (within 6 months)
  • Current Working with Children Check (if required)
  • Valid Australian driver's licence
