Our Perth office is recruiting a Senior Property Underwriter. You will maintain and develop strong business relationships, make quality underwriting decisions, and deliver high-quality service to our brokers. You will work on both Mid-Market and Large Corporate Property Insurance policies, responsible for underwriting key broking partners' Property business, including making underwriting recommendations within the authority framework.

You should have demonstrated knowledge of Property and the insurance market, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven sales ability, and a passion for customer service and relationship building. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, proactive, and professional individual to join our established Perth Property underwriting team and contribute to the growth of our WA portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

• Review of Property risks and complete all necessary underwriting duties.
• Manage a portfolio of mid-market and larger, more complex Property accounts.
• Procure new business opportunities to meet targets.
• Complete premium calculations for new business and renewals using rating systems and guidelines.
• Issue and review policy wordings as needed.
• Identify referral triggers per HDI Global SE, Australia underwriting guidelines, and escalate with recommendations.
• Operate within delegated underwriting authority and guidelines.
• Collaborate with HDI's Risk Engineers to improve clients' risk profiles.
• Work with the team to meet business goals.
• Develop and foster broker and client relationships.

Skills and Experience:

• Preferably 5+ years of Property underwriting experience, especially in the Perth market.
• Experience underwriting mining risks is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven results and relationship-building experience.
• High numeracy and computer literacy (Excel, MS Office).
