Support Coordinator
We're seeking a passionate, resilient Level 2 Support Coordinator to join our team for a rare and meaningful opportunity in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands. This is not your average job—you'll be welcomed into remote communities where your work will have real and lasting impact. This role is based in Port Adelaide with regular travel opportunities to visit the APY Lands.
Your New Role
You'll be part of a close-knit, highly supportive team that travels to remote Aboriginal communities to support individuals with complex needs through trauma-informed, culturally respectful coordination of supports.
27.5 billable hours per week.
You'll work both from Adelaide and on-site in the APY Lands (with required permits), contributing to work that's deeply meaningful, impactful, and unlike anything else.
Expect long days, basic accommodation, and environmental extremes—but also personal growth, connection, and unforgettable experiences.
What You\'ll Bring
- A passion for Aboriginal culture and community-led work
- Experience with trauma-informed practice
- A solution-focused, can-do attitude and the ability to think on your feet
- High-level organisation and attention to detail
- A collaborative spirit—we've got your back and you've got ours
- Creativity and adaptability in resource-limited settings
- A genuine desire to build trust and long-term relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication
- The ability to check and maintain quality standards in challenging environments
- A drive to go above and beyond, always
- Experience in coordination roles within NDIS or human services is highly desirable
Why This Role is Special
This is not your average job. You'll be invited into communities that many never get to visit, and you will be contributing to work that holds deep cultural and personal significance. Access to the APY Lands is restricted, meaning the opportunity is rare and deeply respected.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Certificate III in Disability or equivalent
- Experience in Human Services or Disability Services
- Strong trauma-informed practice and cultural awareness
- High-level organisation, reliability, and emotional resilience
- NDIS Worker Screening or DHS clearance
- Working with Children Check (SA)
- Unrestricted SA driver's license
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, OT, or related fields
- 5+ years\' experience in disability or community services
- Previous experience in remote or cross-cultural work settings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital record-keeping systems
Why Join Us
This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to be part of something deeply meaningful. You will have the chance to support some of Australia's most remote communities, walking alongside participants and learning from one of the oldest continuing cultures in the world.
If you\'re someone who welcomes challenge, thrives in the unpredictable, and cares deeply about community, connection, and culture — we want to hear from you.
