About the Role

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking talented Project Officers at LEVEL APS5 or APS 6 level to join a dynamic government agency located in either Sydney, Newcastle or Wollongong NSW. As a Project Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects and initiatives that have a real impact on communities across Australia. You will work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating activities, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring projects run smoothly and on time.

What's on offer
  • Hourly rate: APS 5 - $55.24 per hour; APS 6 - $60.26 per hour including casual loading + 12% superannuation
  • Full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid working arrangements available after training period
  • Locations: Newcastle NSW, Wollongong NSW, or Surry Hills Sydney NSW

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project support, including planning, reporting, and coordination of tasks
  • Monitor project progress and prepare accurate documentation
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to share information and support outcomes
  • Contribute to policy, process, or program development as required
  • Assist with research, analysis, and preparation of briefing materials
  • Support team operations with administration and record-keeping
About You / Qualifications
  • Previous experience in project, program, or policy support
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable Experience
  • Previous work in a tribunal, legal, or disability sector environment
  • Knowledge of government processes and procedures
