The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020, provides a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning, and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About The Role

The Claims Officer is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of transactional activities, particularly regarding payment of employer reimbursements and worker claims. The Claims Officer will also support employers and workers in relation to the claims process, perform day-to-day administration within the Claims team, and serve as the initial point of contact for all claims-related queries.

About You

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, able to meet deadlines and reprioritize tasks as needed.
  • Have a proactive problem-solving approach, be solutions-focused, and support continuous improvement in claims processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
