Responsibilities
  • Provide general housekeeping and make beds for aged care clients in their homes.
  • Clean, mop and vacuum floors; wash, fold and iron laundry; assist with meal preparation and grocery shopping.
  • Help clients get out of bed, shower and dress for the day; assist with medications; support mobility and therapy goals.
  • Provide complex care for clients with high care needs, such as dementia; provide social and emotional support.
  • Provide client transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
  • Support the family carer by giving them a break or time to do other things.

  • Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.
In addition, you will need
  • A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
  • Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications
The role

In the role of Care Worker you will provide home help services such as:

  • General housekeeping and making beds
  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
  • Washing, folding and ironing laundry
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping

You will also provide personal care services such as:

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
  • Assisting clients to take their medications
  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
  • Providing social and emotional support
  • Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
  • Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things
