    Your role

    Join Our Dynamic Workers Compensation, Safety and Wellbeing Team

    To develop and deliver effective, targeted injury and claims management programs, including return-to-work programs, that support injured workers in recovering at work. This role ensures compliance with legislative requirements and promotes a safe, supportive, and productive work environment across the Department of Communities and Justice.

    What You'll Do

    As an Injury Management Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting employee wellbeing and driving positive outcomes across the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). In this hybrid role, you will:
    • Provide injury management services and coordinate return-to-work programs
    • Manage workers compensation claims and implement injury prevention strategies
    • Facilitate referrals for independent medical assessments with WHS and compensation implications
    • Advise and educate managers and staff on legislation, policies, and procedures
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support recovery and return-to-work outcomes
    • Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with legal and policy requirements

    What We're Looking For

    We're seeking a proactive injury management professional who can:
    • Influence managers to implement innovative, balanced recover-at-work programs
    • Support injured workers through complex claims using best practice approaches
    • Build strong relationships to drive positive outcomes for employees and the business

    Essential Requirements

    To succeed in this role, you must have:
    • Tertiary qualifications in a therapeutic or nursing field, or equivalent experience in injury management
    • Sound knowledge of current workers compensation legislation and policy
    • A valid Driver's License and the ability and willingness to travel across regions to support injured workers face-to-face
