As Project Officer, Environment and Utilities, you will:

  • Support the delivery of projects under the department's climate, infrastructure, and assets strategy.
  • Implement programs and projects, identifying risks and managing expectations on time and within budget.
  • Draft advice concerning facility services, including management and reduction of waste, electricity, and water.

The Opportunity (Key Responsibilities/Duties):

  • Support the delivery of projects under the department's climate, infrastructure, and assets strategy.
  • Implement programs and projects, identifying risks and managing expectations on time and within budget within the department's program management framework.
  • Draft advice concerning facility services, including management and reduction of waste, electricity, and water, and reporting across all services and initiatives.
  • Manage utility contracts and vendors, including processing consolidated accounts, data collation, and seeking efficiencies while maintaining service standards.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, correspondence, and data analysis to communicate and evaluate the department's performance against targets, including legislative reporting requirements.
  • Undertake policy and legislation research and analysis to develop standards, processes, and procedures, focusing on risk management, compliance, sustainability, and cost-effective initiatives such as emission reduction, waste, and energy management.
  • Evaluate existing business processes to identify areas for improvement, design solutions, and develop them using Microsoft products.
  • Maintain and develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay informed on emergent climate management issues.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications, Registrations, Experience):

  • An understanding of budget and financial principles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing environment and utilities-related projects.
  • Evidence of meeting the eligibility requirements will be required during the selection process.
