The Opportunity (Key Responsibilities/Duties)

As Project Officer, Environment and Utilities, you will:

  1. Support the delivery of projects under the department's climate, infrastructure, and assets strategy.
  2. Implement programs and projects, identifying risks and managing expectations on time and within budget within the department's program management framework.
  3. Draft advice concerning facility services, including management and reduction of waste, electricity, and water, and reporting across all services and initiatives.
  4. Manage utility contracts and vendors, including processing consolidated accounts, collating data, and seeking efficiencies while maintaining service standards.
  5. Prepare reports, including briefings, correspondence, and data analysis, to communicate and evaluate the department's performance against targets, including annual legislative reporting requirements.
  6. Undertake policy and legislation research and analysis to develop standards, processes, and procedures, with an emphasis on managing risk, compliance, sustainability, and cost-effective initiatives such as emission reduction, waste, energy management, and environmental controls.
  7. Evaluate existing business processes to identify areas for improvement, design solutions to resolve issues, and develop solutions using the Microsoft suite of products.
  8. Maintain and develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay informed about emergent climate management issues.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications, Registrations, Experience)
  1. An understanding of budget and financial principles.
  2. Demonstrated experience in managing environment and utilities-related projects.
  3. Evidence of meeting the eligibility requirements will be requested during the selection process.
